A ’79 Elco is parked crooked facing the water at Seward Park. The paint is flat, dotted with rust from constant rain slowly eroding the exterior. The driver’s door creaks loudly as it opens, loose tobacco spills onto the concrete, and with another moan from the door’s hinges it slams shut. The windows are slightly cracked, a bluish smoke escapes into the gray sky. A short time passes, then the ignition wheezes, the engine clears its throat and roars deeply as the car swings into reverse before pulling off, leaving behind a black cloud of exhaust.

“Make Moves” is the debut and single from the upcoming mixtape Thadwick Tristen Trevor III & Swan Coltrane, Adventures in a Helluvastate, being released collaboratively by Cloud Nice and Members Only 206.
